Traditional Ulster bonfires called off due to coronavirus

Wood gathered for the traditional bonfires lit every July 11 across Northern Ireland is being removed from sites in Belfast by council workers after Loyalist communities agreed to call off this year's events due to the coronavirus pandemic.

DUP councillor George Dorrian says it is believed to be the first time since the second world war that July 11 bonfires have been called off.

Footage was gathered at Lismore Street in Belfast where wood was removed by contractors employed by Belfast City Council on Friday morning.
