US reaches deal on $2 trillion aid package

The White House and Senate leaders of both parties have struck an agreement on a sweeping two trillion US dollar measure to aid workers, businesses and a healthcare system strained by the rapidly spreading coronavirus outbreak.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the "historic" deal was a "a wartime level of investment into our nation."
