PARLIAMENT SESSION IN PROGRESS STORY: One of Kenya's parliamentarians, Adan Keynan, was forced out the chamber by chants 'Quarantine!

Quarantine!'

On Tuesday (March 17) as another legislator raised concerns that Keynan' colleague had recently arrived from London and should be self-isolating.

The lawmaker had to leave the chamber by the order of the speaker - who was struggling to hold in laughter but said he was serious about the decision.

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta announced measures to stop the potential spread of the coronavirus on Sunday (March 15) which include a ban on all major public events and restrictions on foreign travel as well as mandatory self-quarantine for everyone who arrived in the country after March 1.

Another member of the parliament who was on the same London flight was asked to leave the chamber earlier on the same day.
