We are following breaking news out of syracuse..more gun violence there...this time a victim is a six year old boy and the shooter was shot and killed by police.... here's what we know....syracuse police chief kenton buckner says reports came in just before 8 for a shooting on fenton street.
Police responded to the home and say they found a man with a weapon.
One officer shot the man and he was pronounced dead on scene.
Chief buckner said officers then found a 6-year-old boy who was shot before they arrived.
The chief said.
There appears to be some sort of domestic relationship between the male who is deceased here on the scene and the young man that was shot," he also said the boy is in critical condition and was undergoing surgery at upstate university hospital, chief buckner did not release the name or age of the man who died.
No officers were hurt.
The chief deputy of the oneida county jail noticed a change in the inmate population and reported it to the sheriff.
