She's one of the most iconic writers in classical British literature.

But this miniature book was written by a teenage Charlotte Bronte.

The tiny manuscript is one of a series of periodicals written by Bronte and her sisters that they called The Young Men's Magazine.

Filled with over 4,000 tiny written words, the manuscript is made up of stories with characters from 'Glass Town', an imaginary world invented by the Bronte children as they played with toy tin soldiers.

It's just been sold at an auction in Paris and will now be returning to where it was first dreamt up - Bronte's childhood home in West Yorkshire.

The Bronte Parsonage Museum bid 780,000 euros that's around $109,000 for the unpublished manuscript.

The museum's fundraising campaign was boosted by an appeal from actress Judi Dench.

A representative from the museum explained its significance.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) REPRESENTATIVE OF BRONTE PARSONAGE MUSEUM AT AUCTION, BOOKSELLER ED MAGGS, SAYING: "They created this very elaborate imaginary world, which they wrote out, they created this magazine, they invented a whole world peopled partly by figures borrowed from public events, partly from imaginary figures.

And it's a childish imagination at large, but what's particularly wonderful about this is that they turned into the Bronte sisters, and so they carried this world of the imagination through into their mature work." The booklet's folded pages are stitched into a crude brown paper cover, measuring 50 by 70 millimeters, and goes with a tiny leather case.

Bronte, whose works included Jane Eyre died in 1855.
