Ringo Starr has brought The Beatles back together for a single on his new album: "What's My Name?" (SOUNDBITE) (English) MUSICIAN, RINGO STARR, SAYING: "We're all on it now but I had nothing to do with it." The drummer decided to record a cover of "Grow Old With Me" - one of the last songs written by John Lennon.

In it, his former bandmate says: "this one's for you, Ringo." (SOUNDBITE) (English) MUSICIAN, RINGO STARR, SAYING: "So I thought, well I'm going to do it.

I loved the song, you know, the emotion of him speaking to me.

He's been gone quite a while but it's emotional to me.

He was one of my greatest friends.

I said I'm going to do it, so I did my part and (...) I thought it would be great if Paul played on this.

He's the only bass player I really want on this track because he's so melodic and he's such a fine musician and so I called him - he was coming into L.A.

- and I said I'd like you to play on this track and he said 'ok' and that's what he did." Then, a producer found a way to bring in the late George Harrison by inserting some of the strings from "Here Comes the Sun" - one of the few Beatles hits written by Harrison.

In October, the Beatles' "Abbey Road" album returned to the top of the music charts amid renewed interest for its 50th anniversary.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MUSICIAN, RINGO STARR, SAYING: "It impresses me and I think it impresses people that it was made 50 years ago and we did our best and we mixed it the best way we could.

Giles took it and put the new sound to it, the new image to it, new expression to it, new energy and here we go again.

It's far out."
