Social Media Blocked In Liberia Due To Protests

CNN reports thousands of Liberians gathered in the capital of Monrovia Friday to protest their government.

According to the internet monitoring platform NetBlocks, all social media sites were later blocked, in attempts to put an end to the spread of the protests.

Netblocks said WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Google's Gmail service and The Associated Press were among the sites blocked.
