What It's Like Inside a Blue Origin Space Capsule

Outside of Amazon, Jeff Bezos is working on another big project.

That's Blue Origin, a space flight company he founded in 2000.

Bezos' vision is to build the necessary infrastructure to allow industrial activity on the moon.

It's a difficult endeavor, but Blue Origin is making progress.

New Shepard, a six-seater space capsule, will start taking human passengers within a year.

It's currently used to take research payloads up into space.

It launches off a booster, then the capsule releases for free flight once it crosses into space.

Once the trip is done, both the booster and the capsule float back down to earth -- the entire trip takes just 11 minutes.

Blue Origin is one of the many high-stakes bets Bezos has taken over the years -- but in the case of Amazon, it's more than paid off.

Amazon is a holding in Jim Cramer's Action Alerts PLUS Charitable Trust Portfolio.
