Sri Lanka Temporarily Blocks Social Media Following Terror Attacks

The Sri Lankan government blocked access to popular social networks following Sunday’s terror attacks that killed more than 290 people.

A temporary shutdown of sites like Facebook and Instagram aims to stop the spread of misinformation and fake news, according to Geek.com Unfortunately, it also leaves many locals and foreigners struggling to communicate with loved ones who may have been affected by the weekend’s suicide bombings.
