(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) New Zealand actor Sam Neill on Tuesday (March 20) recounted the moment he found out about the Christchurch mosque shootings, while in a taxi driven by a Muslim driver, saying he was in "floods of tears".

Neill said his Muslim taxi driver comforted him, adding that New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern has been outstanding in leading the country through this difficult time.

Australian Brenton Tarrant, a suspected white supremacist, was charged with murder on Saturday (March 16) and was due back in court on April 5 where police said he was likely to face more charges.

Fifty people were killed in Friday's (March 15) attack at at two mosques with dozens more wounded, which Ardern had labelled as terrorism.
