(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) Surveillance footage showed a railway track that disappeared under rising waters during major flooding in Queensland, Australia this week.

Video released by Queensland Rail showed tracks submerged after days of rain.

A freight train was also found stationary on the tracks in Nelia, around 788 km (489 miles) west of Townsville where the floods threatened around 750 homes.

A record 1.16 metres (3.8 ft) of rain fell across the Townsville area in last week, the Bureau of Meteorology said.

The weather bureau warned that although rain has eased significantly in northwest Queensland, it is still a very serious situation with extensive flooding.
