New York City Just Announced A $100 Million Universal Health Insurance Program

New York City has just launched a $100 million health insurance program to cover 600,000 uninsured city residents.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said that the program will include those unable to afford coverage and those living in the United States illegally.

According to Reuters, de Blasio told reporters, β€œFrom this moment on in New York City everyone is guaranteed the right to health care."

De Blasio says the new NYC Care plan will be funded without tax increases.
