STORY: Over 60 women from various parts of India participated on a talent hunt event organised to form the country's first all-women motor racing team.

After three days of rigorous training at the Kari Motor Speedway track in southern Coimbatore city, six women were selected to showcase their skills at next week's JK Tyre National Racing Championship.

Ritika Oberoi, who is a doctor by profession and was selected to be part of the women-only team, said that one needs a lot of courage to overcome their fear and get into the track and that it is one of the nicest feelings one can ever have.

India is the home of one of the current Formula One teams, Force India, but the team's base is in the UK.

India has currently no Formula One driver.
