New York governor says 'worst is over' as growth in coronavirus deaths declines

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday said "the worst is over" for the state hit hardest by the novel coronavirus, as hospitalizations appeared to be reaching a plateau and deaths increased by 671, the lowest daily total in a week.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday welcomed the "good news" that total hospitalizations were down for a second day but cautioned that the coronavirus 'crisis' will not be "over" until there is a vaccine.
