Border-Security Funding Deal Nears a Vote

President Trump is likely to sign the border-security bill finalized Wednesday that would keep the government from closing this weekend, people familiar with his plans said, but he continues to look for ways to supplement the modest funding it contains for barriers.

Trump Declares National Emergency To Build Border Wall
US President Donald Trump on Friday declared a state of emergency and immediately direct $8 billion to construct or repair the border barrier between the US and Mexico. The move comes after the president failed to get the $5.7 billion he requested in border security funding from lawmakers. Trump on Thursday agreed to sign a deal that included $1.375 for border security, instead, in order to avoid another government shutdown.
